Server error is received on an attempt to log in to Usage Meter after being upgraded from 4.3 to 4.4

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
When the customer logins to the Usage Meter web application, they receive a server error. There is an issue with the GNAT service that impacts the collection by Usage Meter and upload to vCloud Usage Insight. The following errors can be seen in vccol_main.log and dss_main.log, respectively :

Environment

VMware vCloud Usage Meter 4.x

Cause

The issue with the gnat service being stuck causes the Usage Meter modules not to communicate.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in vCloud Usage Meter 4.5 with enhancements to the GNAT services.
