Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
vRA Upgrade is failing with an error:

Error Code: LCMVRAVACONFIG90038
vRA VA prepare failed, due to wrong / invalid repositoryUrl.
Upgrade prepare on vRA VA <VRAHOSTNAME> failed with status error due to wrong repositoryUrl provided. Please check if the URL http://<LCM-FQDN>/repo/productBinariesRepo/vra/8.1.0/upgrade/update is un-authenticated and is available and holds the right upgrade bits. To know more about the failure, run command "vracli upgrade status --detailson the vRA VA <VRAHOSTNAME>. To cancel the current upgrade request and try with the correct repository, click RETRY with cancelAndStartAfresh property set to true. Post cancellation, upgrade can be re-triggered from product actions.

VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.x

Cause

This issue occurs when you try to upgrade vRA using vRSLCM and a correct network configuration missing.
vRSLCM hostname should be FQDN and it should be resolved from vRA host.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, setup your DNS server to include the FQDN of vRSLCM and other networking configuration and ensure vRSLCM can be reached using FQDN from vRA host.
