Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • After entering your domain credentials in vRSLCM login page you are redirected to browser error page displaying "HTTP ERROR 401".
  • VMware Identity Manager certificate was replaced recently.
  • In /var/log/vrlcm/vmware_vrlcm.log file you see errors similar to:

Environment

VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.x

Cause

This issue is caused when updated vIDM certificate is not accepted in vRSLCM.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, re-register vRLSCM authentication provider:

  1. Login to vRSLCM using a local account.
  2. Navigate to Lifecycle operations > Settings > Authentication Provider.
  3. Click Re-Register.
  4. Retry login using your domain account.
