Issue/Introduction

This article provides the steps to update the admin and root passwords for VMware Aria Operations for Logs using VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle. It is part of a group of articles about managing passwords using VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle: Password management with VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle (vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager) Locker (322673).

Note: In VCF mode on VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle, passwords are managed by the SDDC Manager rotation tool. Therefore:

• Follow Rotate Passwords for VMware Cloud Foundation Components. This document indicates which passwords are managed by SDDC Manager.
• If you updated the passwords managed by the SDDC password rotation tool outside of SDDC or followed this article, remediate them by following Remediate Passwords for VMware Cloud Foundation Components.

If you experience problems with the Password Rotation tool or remediating passwords in SDDC Manager, file a Service Request with the VCF team.

Changing passwords in Aria Suite Lifecycle involves the Locker and Lifecycle Operations applications:

• Locker: creates the password in the Aria Suite Lifecycle database and confirms whether the password is in use.
• Lifecycle Operations: provides the Day 2 action to change the password.
