Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

In vRNI 3.5, you may receive alarm similar to:

NSX VIB or host module not detected on host

Environment

VMware vRealize Network Insight 3.x

Cause

In NSX 6.3.3, NSX VIB names are changed on ESXi 6.0 and later. VIB names on ESXi 5.5 remain the same.

Old NameNew name
Vsipnsx-vsip
vdl2nsx-vdl2
vdrbnsx-vdrb
dvfilter-switch-securitynsx-dvfilter-switch-security
esx-vxlanesx-nsxv
esx-vsipesx-nsxv

Due to this, vRNI 3.5 triggers the NSX VIB or host module not detected on host alarm as vRNI searches for older VIB names.

For more information, see the VMware NSX for vSphere 6.3.3 Release Notes.

Resolution

Currently, there is no resolution.
