Issue/Introduction
Symptoms:
- You are using NSX gateways, Tier 1 and/or Tier 0.
- When creating or editing the gateways, you receive the error:
- In the NSX manager's /var/log/syslog you will see error as below:
2022-12-22T20:35:00.995Z <nsx-manager-FQDN/IP> NSX 4842 - [nsx@6876 comp="nsx-manager" errorCode="IDAS0" level="ERROR" subcomp="manager"] [IDAS0] Pool uuid {#012 left: #####################012 right: ####################012}#012 has no free ids
- This can occur when adding gateway firewall rules also.

Cause
- IDAS (ID Allocation Service) has a range of 1 billion UUIDs available to use when creating Gateway firewall rules.
- These ID's are not reused when the Gateway firewall rule is deleted.
- This Error is generated when the range is exhausted.
Resolution
This is a known issue impacting VMware NSX and VMware NSX-T Data Center.
Workaround:
If you believe you have encountered this issue, please open a Broadcom support request and refer to this KB.
