VMware NSX MPS (Malware Prevention Service) activation may fail/timeout in NSX-T environments with NAPP deployed.

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• You are running an NSX environment with NAPP (NSX Application Platform) deployed.
• You encounter an error when activating the MPS (Malware Prevention Service) feature. It will be in a failed state with the error "activation failed" in the UI.
• When attempting to Delete MPS it gives the following error.

Failed to activate NSX Malware Prevention!

VMware NSX-T Data Center 4.x
VMware NSX-T Data Center

Resolution

This is a known issue impacting VMware NSX.

Additional Information

Impact/Risks:
You will not be able to activate the MPS feature card, and the UI option to delete the feature will be greyed out.
