VMware NSX-T Bare Metal edge node CLI reporting incorrect nic bond status

Issue/Introduction

• You are using VMware NSX-T 3.X.
• Using the CLI command get physical-port on the bare metal edge, it returns status as down:

BMedge001> get physical-port
Physical Port
ADMIN_STATUS : down
...
NAME : bond-MGMT-NIC-NVDS

• Using the CLI command get bond it illustrates the bond is up:

BMedge001> get bond
Wed Apr 26 2023 UTC 08:26:33.554
Bond
Device Name : bond-MGMT-NIC-NVDS
Status : up

• There is no data plane impact and services are running on the edge node as expected.
• The NSX-UI reports no issues with the edge node.

Cause

This is a cosmetic issue with the CLI and can safely be ignored.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware NSX 3.2.4
This issue is resolved in VMware NSX 4.2.0

Workaround:
Use the CLI commands get bond to confirm the bond status.
