Issue/Introduction

  • You're running NSX 3.2.1
  • You're running NSX federation, and a site was recently offboarded.
  • When creating a Tier-1 gateway the status shows as failed and clicking on failed hyperlink shows the below error:

[Routing] Self site id must be register with manager to create inter site logical router.
[Routing] Self site id null must be present in site span of logical router.
[Routing] Site ids in inter site logical router span must be register with manager.

Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.2

Cause

If a site was incorrectly offboarded then the same name of the offboarded site was reused, it may lead to the use of the same UUID of the offboarded site.

Resolution

This is a known issue in NSX federation.
