Issue/Introduction

  • ESXi hosts are prepared as transport nodes.
  • One of the NSX-T prepared hosts has encountered a purple screen (PSOD).
  • In the ESXi logs, you see a core dump has been generated:
/var/core/vmkernel-zdump-xxxxx
  • The details on the PSOD screen are:

Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.x
VMware NSX 4.x

Cause

This occurs due to an an attribute locking issue with the NSX-T DFW filters.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.1.3 and 3.2.1.2, VMware NSX 4.0.0.1 and 4.1.0

Workaround:
If you encounter this issue, reboot the ESXi host.
