NSX-T prepared host encounters a purple screen

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• You are running NSX-T prior to 3.1.3 and 3.2.1.2 with ESXi hosts prepared as transport nodes.
• One of the NSX-T prepared hosts has encountered a purple screen (PSOD).
• In the ESXi logs, we see a core dump has been generated:

/var/core/vmkernel-zdump-xxxxx

• The details on the screen are:

Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center

Cause

This occurs due to an an attribute locking issue with the NSX-T DFW filters.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.1.3 and 3.2.1.2, VMware NSX 4.0.0.1 and 4.1.0 available at VMware downloads.

Workaround:
If you encounter this issue, please reboot the ESXi host.
