Common ports for protocols used in VAMI based backups

Issue/Introduction

When working with VAMI backup, please note the following port communication required between your VCSA and the backup location

These ports are subject to change as administrators may utilize custom ports on their system for security reasons.
 

Environment

VMware vCenter Server Appliance 6.5.x

VMware vCenter Server Appliance 6.7.x

VMware vCenter Server 7.0.x

VMware vCenter Server 8.0.x

Cause

If the ports are not open the backup will fail with errors like  Failed to connect to backup server

Resolution

When working with VAMI backup, please note the following port communication required between your VCSA and the backup location:

Failure to have ports open in both directions will prevent the backup from completing successfully.
