Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • ESXi Host Client displays an error right after logging in or when we click on Edit Settings of a VM:
Unfortunately, we hit an error that we weren't expecting. The client may continue working, but at this point, we recommend refreshing your browser and submitting a bug report. 
Press the Esc key to hide this dialog and continue without refreshing. 

 
  • When we Click on Details, we see below details:
Cause: Possibly unhandled rejection: {}
Version: 1.33.4 
Build: 13786312 ESXi: 6.5.0 
Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/80.0.3987.149 Safari/537.36

  • Issue is seen on ESXi hosts which have large vvol datastore attached
  • vCenter HTML5 client does not report any errors for similar operations


Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 6.7
VMware vSphere ESXi 6.5
VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0.0

Resolution

This is a known issue. Currently is no resolution in the Host UI Client.

Workaround:
To workaround the issue use one of the below options:
1. Press Esc when the Unhandled Exception pop-up appears and continue working.
2. Use vCenter HTML5 client to perform the operations.
