Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Customers are using vCenter Server and have configured OAuth federation for authenticating, they will be able to authenticate using vCenter GUI but, when authenticating using PowerCLI cmdlet New-OAuthSecurityContext results in the error "The system cannot find the file specified."


Environment

VMware vSphere PowerCLI 13.2

Cause

This is a known issue specific to the PowerShell Core variation of PowerCLI.

Resolution

The fix would be available in upcoming release of PowerCLI.


Workaround:

Use Windows PowerShell 5.1 to run the PowerCLI commands. This is the version of PowerShell included with Windows 11 which is accessible via the system tools for the operating system.

This will be impacted to customers who are using VMware PowerCLI version up to and including 13.2.
