Issue/Introduction

Sometimes Enabling FT on a Virtual Machine fails with the Error: "Invalid Virtual Machine Configuration".

Symptoms:
While Enabling Fault Tolerance (FT) on a Virtual Machine gives you the below Error:



Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 

Cause

The issue is happening because of the Storage Policies applied to the VM is not supported with Fault Tolerance (FT).

Resolution

Perform a Storage vMotion of the Virtual Machine to another Datastore using the Datastore Default.
