Symptoms:

• Unable to view the Performance Overview and vCenter Service Status pages in vCenter Server
• Viewing Performance Overview and vCenter Service Status fails
• You see the error:

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 4.0.x
VMware vCenter Server 4.1.x

Resolution

This issue occurs when the Internet Explorer proxy settings are configured to disallow connections to internal addresses.

 

To resolve this issue, in the proxy settings, add an exception for the IP address range of your internal environment.

 

To configure your proxy settings:

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools > Internet Options.
3. Click the Connections tab.
4. Click LAN Settings.
5. In Proxy Server section, Select Advanced
6. Add an exception for IP ranges in your internal environment.
