Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Embedded Cross-domain repointing and Certificate regeneration scripts will fails while retrieving the lookupservice information after FQDN/Hostname change

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 6.7.x

Cause

• The cause of the issue is identified due to the empty lookupservice service registration entry post FQDN change.

Resolution

To workaround the issue, post the FQDN change run the attached python script.

• Copy the script attached to this article (71334_post_pnid.py) on the vCenter Server
• Make the script executable:

chmod +x 71334_post_pnid.py

 

• Execute the script

Example output :
root@vc1 [ ~ ]# ./71334_post_pnid.py
