Chargeback showing Pricing link with Billing disabled

Issue/Introduction

The pricing tab should be disabled once the bills are disabled for the tenant app user.

Symptoms:

After disabling the bills on the chargeback tenant app, the pricing tab still shows for the user logged in as a tenant.  

 

 

Environment

VMware Chargeback 8.10
VMware Aria Operations 8.14.x

Cause

Known issue with the latest Aria Operations charge back tenant app version 8.10.1.

Resolution

To be fixed in the next release.

Workaround:

The engineering team has shared the hotfix which needs to be applied on Tenant App 8.10.1.

 

Steps: 

 

NOTE: Kindly secure a snapshot of the existing Tenant App appliance before installing the Hotfix.  

• Login to Tenant App Console using root credentials.  
• Upload the zip file attached to the Tenant App to /tmp directory. 
• Extract the zip file using the command: unzip tenant-app-upgrade-package.zip 
• Change the permission of the extracted script file, using: chmod u+x Tenant_HF_Upgrade_unix.sh 
• Execute the Script using the command: ./Tenant_HF_upgrade_Unix.sh 
• The script will enforce a reboot on the machine after RPM installation. Please comment suitably if the restart needs to be done manually, restart is a must for the new changes to commit.  
• The pricing tab should be disabled now after reboot.

Impact/Risks:

Users get the pricing tab even if the admin disables the bills.
