The VMWare SDWAN Edges which have integrated LTE modem are
- 510-LTE-AE/510-LTE-AP
- 610-LTE-AM/610-LTE-RW
510-LTE-AE/510-LTE-AP (Rear View with SIM Slots):

- 510-LTE-AE model uses the Sierra Wireless Modem EM7455 which is deployed in the North America and Europe region.
- 510-LTE-AP model uses the Sierra Wireless Modem EM7433 which is deployed in the APAC, ANZ, and Latin America region.
These models are not regionally interchangeable, i.e . an 510-LTE-AE is not compatible with mobile carriers in the APAC region and vice versa.
LTE Specific implementation in 510-LTE
- The edge has dual sim card slots.
- However only the sim1 slot could be used. Sim2 slot is not currently supported.
- SIM1 is the bottom slot, and Sim2 is the top slot.
For more details on the 510-LTE device, please refer to the latest datasheet.
610-LTE-AM/610-LTE-RW (Rear View with SIM Slots):

- 610-LTE-AM is deployed in the North America region and uses the Sierra Wireless Modem EM7511.
- 610-LTE-RW is deployed for rest of the world and uses the Sierra Wireless Modem EM7565.
LTE Specific implementation in 610-LTE
- 610-LTE does not support Band 40. Band 40 is for Indonesia and hence 610-LTE is not recommended for Indonesia.
- 610 LTE model supports dual sim with single standby as well as active/active sim slots.
- SIM1 is the top slot and SIM2 is the bottom slot.
For more details on the 610-LTE device, please refer to the latest datasheet.
All edges support USB based modem for LTE connection.
Signal Strength Considerations
- External Antenna is recommended if Edge 510/610-LTE is deployed in a location where the signal strength is bad.
