Issue/Introduction

"Edge gateway XXXX cannot be connected to more than 9 non-distributed networks " error when we attempt add a network to an existing edge

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

In NSX-T, the Tier-1 gateway downlink or service interfaces can reach up to 1000 interfaces per Tier-1 gateway.

Resolution

Use the cell management tool command to increase the limit.

 

• Verify the current limit using the command below

/opt/vmware/vcloud-director/bin/cell-management-tool manage-config -n networking.gatewayInterfaceCount -l

• Change the value to xx

/opt/vmware/vcloud-director/bin/cell-management-tool manage-config -n networking.gatewayInterfaceCount -v xx

Note: the default for this configuration option is 10
