HCX - New Available Version for OSAM appliances SGW/SDR missing in the UI after manager upgrade

Issue/Introduction

Identify and remediate a known issue with SGW/SDR appliance upgrade so that user should not have to delete the SM and deploy a new SM to upgrade SGW/SDR version.

Symptoms:
After upgrading HCX managers (Connector and Cloud), the upgrade notification will be missing for SGW/SDR appliances in an existing SM under "View Appliances" section.
As a result SGW/SDR appliances never gets upgraded release to release like other HCX appliances IX and NE.

Cause

In general, SM Appliances do not upgraded automatically upon HCX manager upgrade. User will have to click on Upgrade Appliances under SM page to upgrade them.
The update information is currently only available for IX/NE appliances as they are bundled in Main package which gets downloaded as part of HCX manager upgrade bundle. However, SGW/SDR are part of Add ON bundle which gets downloaded on a later stage.
As a result, "upgrade" button available for IX and NE but remains missing for SGW and SDR appliances.

Resolution

None at the Moment.

Workaround:
User is required to select SGW appliance under given SM page at HCX Connector/Source manager and then perform "Redeploy" post HCX managers (Connector and Cloud) upgrade, which will help SGW/SDR both appliances to get redeployed using latest version similar to IX and NE appliances.

Additional Information

Impact/Risks:

• There will NO impact to IX and NE upgrade services.
• SGW/SDR appliances will CONTINUE operating on older version.
• NO impact in Migration & Network Extension workflow.
