VMware HCX VMware Cloud on AWS

Issue/Introduction

  • HCX plugin will not load in vCenter UI
  • The below error can be seen on the vCenter HCX plugin UI:
    no healthy upstream

Resolution

Confirm there is a reliable network connection between the HCX Manager and the vCenter server and authentication between the 2 is successful

  • If ping is allowed, a continuous ping from the CLI between the 2 appliances can confirm network connectivity consistency
  • If ping fails or is not consistent, furtther troubleshooting on the physical infrastructure may be required
  • If authentication is failing for the vCenter server, check the HCX Manager 443 page: https://<HCX _Manager_IP_Address/FQDN>:9443 and confirm the vCenter pane in the Dashboard has a green dot next to it

Alternatively, users are recommended to view HCX dashboard using HCX hybridity Standalone (443) UI and continue with the operations.
