HCX - Unable to archive OSAM Migrations record from wizard

Issue/Introduction

This resource is to inform about failure of OSAM Migration archive workflow and how to recover that.

Symptoms:
HCX OSAM migrations record won't be able to archive from migrations wizard for a given VM.

Cause

For HCX OSAM framework, once migration gets completed it is represented as "COMPLETED" in the backend system. However, our existing code query for "MIGRATION_COMPLETE" flag which is common and usable by other migration profiles such as Bulk/vMotion/RAV etc. As a result, it fails to archive OSAM migration record from wizard.

Resolution

This issue will be fixed in upcoming HCX release.

Workaround:
Open a Service Request with VMware Global Support Services and include the required information to work on remediation.

Additional Information

Impact/Risks:

• This will ONLY impact "Archive" operation for an OSAM migration record for VMs.
• Other migration records related to Bulk/vMotion/RAV will remain unaffected.
