HCX - Unable to update existing Compute profile (CP)

Issue/Introduction

This resource is to inform about the below error and how to resolve this error.

Errors: [{"code":"E_INVALID_INPUT","message":"Computes are used by other Service Mesh SDDC1-L2E-MESH paired to same endpoint."}].

 

Symptoms:
HCX compute profile update with new datastore information will fail with error(web.log) as shown below:

HCX Compute profile UI will report below error:

Cause

The issue happens due to a check for conflicting service compute such as:

• When using compute profiles that are sharing the same service cluster across CPs.
• When the same remote compute profile is in use (forming V topology).

Resolution

None at the moment.

Workaround:
Open a Service Request with VMware by Broadcom Global Support Services and include the required information to work on remediation.

Additional Information

Impact/Risks:

• The existing compute profile (CP) can't be updated with ANY parameters such as:
  • Updating Datastore information
  • Reducing or increasing CPU/MEM resources
• New Compute Profile can be created and updated without any issues.
• There won't be any impact in HCX functionality in terms of migration & network extension workflows.
