VMware NSX for vSphere

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
Creating new Live Flow monitoring session fails even when there is no other active live session in progress.

Environment

VMware NSX for vSphere 6.4.x
VMware NSX for vSphere 6.3.x

Cause

NSX for vSphere supports a total of five Live Flow monitoring sessions at a time from different UI/user sessions. Once the system has five Live Flow monitoring sessions in progress, it will start rejecting any new requests for Live Flow monitoring session. In this particular issue, the system had only one Live session in progress but still rejected new session creation because some of the existing/older sessions were not cleaned up properly causing the system to assume that there are live sessions still in progress.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware NSX Data Center for vSphere 6.3.x and 6.4.x.

Currently, there is no resolution.

Workaround:
To work around this issue, reboot the NSX Manager.

Note: Since the state of Live Flow monitoring sessions is maintained in-memory, there is no way to clean up old in-active sessions except for restarting NSX Manager.
