Unable to establish HTTPS connection locally to get CIM status on ESXi 6.5 and above

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
When running HTTPS query internally on an ESXi 6.5 host, you see these symptoms:

• Running the HTTPS query fails.
• You see the error:
  
  SSL error code error:1407609C.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 6.7
VMware vSphere ESXi 6.5
VMware vSphere ESXi 6.0

Cause

This issue occurs because the pywbem library of the ESXi host uses SSL Protocol to connect over HTTPS.

Resolution

This is expected behavior in 6.5 and above. If you need further assistance please contact your OEM vendor.
