NSX-T DHCP relayed packets fail to reach the DHCP server if distant of 10 or more routing hops.
This issue occurs because DHCP relayed packets have a Time to live (TTL) of 10. If the DHCP server is more than 10 routing hops away, DHCP relay packets are dropped before they can reach it.
Resolved in VMware NSX-T Data Center 2.5.0.
Note: In NSX-T Data Center 2.5.0, the DHCP relayed packet have a TTL of 64.
