Issue/Introduction

This article provides insight on behavioral changes for display of Security policy status in NSX for vSphere.

Environment

VMware NSX for vSphere 6.4.x

Resolution

Prior to NSX for vSphere 6.4.1, the Service Composer security policy status was computed on runtime hence Security policy list User Interface (UI) was not having the capability to filter or sort on the basis of policy status. Since 6.4.1, Security policy's overall status (sync status + publish status) is computed periodically and stored in the database which is used by the security policy list UI to display the policy status. The time interval for periodically updating the policy status is 10 minutes. In addition to this, if a policy is created/updated, then its status is computed immediately (time interval: 30 seconds).

Also since 6.4.1,Netx actions publish status will not be shown anywhere.
