1024 DVfilters are limited on one host in NSX

Issue/Introduction

• Connecting a vnic to a logical switch fails in an ESXi host.
• The ESXi host already has 512 vnics deployed and connected to the logical switch.

Cause

This issue occurs due to a 1024 DVfilters limitation on the ESXi host.

For each virtual NIC connected to the logical switch, one filter is allocated for DFW and one filter for spoofguard/IP Discovery (If enabled).

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware NSX for vSphere 6.4..

Workaround:
Disable Spoofguard/IP Discovery to free up more filters.
