The CSI/CNS driver is used to deliver vSphere storage resources directly to cloud-native container-based workloads and enables storage persistence for these workloads through vSphere. For more information about the CNS/CSI driver, see
VMware Docs or the
GitHub repository .
VMware Global Support Services fully supports the use of the CSI/CNS driver with all compatible container/cloud-native workload platforms. Previously, this driver was formally supported only for Pivotal Kubernetes Service (PKS), and its use with other platforms was community supported. As of 2020-05-01, the CNS/CSI driver is fully supported by VMware on multiple platforms.
Support for the CNS/CSI driver is limited to storage delivery to the workload platform. Issues within the workload platform are not in scope for VMware Support, including intra-platform issues with consuming storage services that have been successfully delivered to the platform.
