VMware Aria Operations Dashboards page shows Internal Server Error

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Popup an  "Internal Server Error" when trying to open Dashboards page in UI
• Manage Dashboards shows a blank page
• In analytics log, You can see logs similar to

ERROR [ForkJoinPool-1-worker-1]  com.vmware.statsplatform.persistence.globaldata.XStreamUtil.generateAndRegisterXStream - Error when generate and register xstream object for com.vmware.vcops.bridge.model.result.common.dashboard.DashboardLink

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.12.x
VMware vRealize Operations 8.10.x

Resolution

This issue is resolved in vRealize Operations 8.10 Hot Fix 6 and VMware Aria Operations 8.12 Hot Fix 1 . available at VMware Patch Portal

Workaround:

To workaround, follow the steps below:

1. Create a new dashboard, Drag any widget in it like list and metric chart.
2. Rename and Save the dashboard.
3. Created a public shared link for the dashboard by clicking the share button.
4. Click on COPY LINK and a new link should appear in Existing Links of Share Dashboard.
5. Delete the dashboard.
