How to migrate Aria Suite appliances from one vCenter to another vCenter server.

Issue/Introduction

Guideline to migrate VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle , VMware Aria Automation and VMware Identity Manager from one vCenter to another vCenter server.

Environment

VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.x

Resolution

Steps to migrate Aria Suite appliances.

• Make sure you have backups of all the nodes.
• Migrate VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle, VMware Aria Automation and VMware Identity Manager appliances to a new vCenter server (assuming all the network configuration are taken care from your end).
• Add the second vCenter in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle UI by navigating to Lifecycle Operations - Datacenter.

• Initiate Inventory sync which should allow to recognize the new location of the Aria products in Aria Suite Lifecycle.
  
  Note: Inventory sync would fail with Error Code "LCMCOMMON80049" and following error message. To resolve, retry the failed Request and provide the new vCenter hostname and user credentials and submit request. Upon task completion, product inventory will get updated.

  Failed to find the product in the specified vCenter. VMware Identity Manager instance with hostname ##### not found in given vCenter details.
  Make sure the DNS name fleld in the vCenter for the node is same as the node hostname and node is powered on in the vCenter Server. Make sure all the nodes are present in the vCenter Servers provided. Else, add the missing vCenter Servers. Ensure the credentials provided for the vCenter Servers are valid or skip the task using the 'Skip vCenter validation' option during retry.
