How to migrate LCM, vRA, IDM migration from one vCenter to another

Issue/Introduction

How to migrate VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle , VMware Aria Automation and VMware Identity Manager migration from one vCenter to another.

Environment

VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.x

Resolution

• Make sure you have backups of all the nodes
• You can migrate VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle, VMware Aria Automation and VMware Identity Manager appliances to a new VCenter location (assuming all the network configuration are taken care from your end)
• Add the second vCenter on VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle UI by navigating to Lifecycle operations - Datacenter

 

• Perform inventory collection and it should recognize the new location of the products
• Perform inventory sync , it would fail stating it could not find the product. Then choose the right vCenter and that should find the product and update it's inventory, that should work.
