Environment
VMware Identity Manager 3.3.7
Cause
The root partition file system is full and therefor the OVF properties are not saved (/opt/vmware/etc/vami/ovfEnv.xml)
Resolution
- Power off the impacted vIDM node
- Create a Backup/Snapshot
- Boot the affected vIDM node into single user mode, refer KB 375672 to enter single User Mode.
- This can be impacting multiple servers if this is a vIDM cluster. You may need to clean up the space on each server individually.
- Browse through
/var/log directory you can find enormous "messages" files.
- Deleting the file it will give you an error "This is in Read Only Mode" as the partition is mounted as "Read-Only" Mode
- Run below command to mount with Read, Write Mode.
mount -o remount,rw /
- Now you should be able to delete the messages file
- Reboot the appliance
