"Logged in user cannot change their own password via this endpoint." error when attempting to change your password whilst logged in.

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• User cannot change their password via the UI when logged in.
• Users receive an error when changing their password.
• When a logged in user tries to change password via "Users" page in "Administration" tab in a tenant portal, you can see an error "Logged in user cannot change their own password via this endpoint."

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

This error will appear when a user attempts to change their password via the Users section whilst logged in.
Administration > Provider Access Control > Users > <User> > Edit

Resolution

This is an expected behavior in VMware Cloud Director versions 10.3 and later.

To change the password of the user you are logged in as, in the top navigation bar, click your user name, and select Change Password.
