Issue/Introduction

This is a known issue in 7.24.2.0 VCDR or earlier release.

Symptoms:

High-Frequency Snapshot

VM won't backup. Verified no snapshots exist on the VM. Failed to backup VM 'SQL' (/SQL/SQL.vmx) during stage: finishing backup, for task: drc-818e9c1a-bbc0-11ed-ab02-12c66d39afab. High-frequency snapshot failed. Internal error: DPS snapshot failed (DpFaultSnapshotInProgress) VCDR ID: 2dc2429a-c542-4922-909e-137930b42743

Cause

There is a stale snapshot and can be manually flushed out by VCDR administrator/user.

Resolution

See workaround section.

Workaround:

1.) Taking a manual snapshot of the PG and allowing it to fail out

2.) Repeating/Re-taking another manual snapshot (within 30 minutes) and should proceed again.
