[VMC on AWS] Creating new VM fails to boot from image on the Datastore

Issue/Introduction

This article resolves being unable to boot from an image on the Datastore.

Symptoms:
When creating a new VM from an image on the Datastore, the VM does not boot properly.

Cause

This is caused by the VM Firmware settings being EFI instead of BIOS.

Resolution

Before powering on the VM for the first time, edit the settings and ensure the Firmware dropdown has BIOS selected. 



If the VM had been powered on before or is still unable to boot, re-deploy the VM and try again.
