Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
In environment where there are more than 100 scheduled tasks, vSphere Lifecycle Manager may display Last Sync and Next Sync as n/a in the header of Lifecycle Manager > Updates tab.

Notes
  • "Last Sync" and "Next Sync" are "Last Download" and "Next Scheduled Download" for vSphere 6.5 and 6.7.
  • vSphere Lifecycle Manager formerly known as vSphere Update Manager in vSphere 6.5 and 6.7.

Environment

VMware vSphere 6.5.x
VMware vSphere 6.7.x
VMware vSphere 7.0.x

Cause

Last Sync and Next Sync dates are obtained from a scheduled task called "VMware vSphere Lifecycle Manager Update Download". If there are more than 100 scheduled tasks, the logic that searches for it may not find it, and respectively, Last Sync and Next Sync cannot be displayed.

Resolution

This issue is resolved VMware vSphere 7.0 Update 2, available at VMware Downloads

Workaround:
To workaround this issue, reduce the number of scheduled tasks to 100 or less, or search for task named "VMware vSphere Lifecycle Manager Update Download" in
vCenter > Configure > More > Scheduled Tasks and see "Last Run" and "Next Run".
