Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
you might see the internet connectivity issue in vSAN Build Recommendation Health check result.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 6.7
VMware vSphere ESXi 6.5

Cause

vSAN Build Recommendation Engine currently doesn't support non-transparent HTTP proxy server.

Resolution

To resolve this issue:

• The environment requires proxy servers to access the internet, a transparent HTTP proxy server is required for vSAN Build Recommendation Engine.
• You should also ensure proxy server's ACL should not block requests to vcsa.vmware.com, depot.vmware.com, and download2.vmware.com
• The proxy server could use HTTP CONNECT style tunnel(https://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2817.txt) to access HTTPS website.
