Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

  • When editing any of the HTTP / HTTPS values inside the Networking Section of the VCSA's VAMI or 5480 page, The following error is seen:

 

Cause

This issue or error can occur when Proxy Settings are disabled as seen here:

Resolution

Please take the snapshot of the VC as a backup before making any changes and then do the following:

  • SSH into the VCSA using the root credentials.
  • Enable shell if prompted.
  • Run the command: cd /etc/sysconfig > vi proxy
  • This will open the Proxy settings as seen below. The arrows show the areas that need to be changed.

 

  • Edit the settings shown below to the required settings and URLs. Press i to insert the cursor and navigate around the file using the arrow keys. Once complete, Save the file by pressing Esc > wq! same per this screenshot:

  • Perform a reboot of the VCSA via the CLI or by using Actions > Reboot in the VAMI to apply the changes.
  • Once the changes are verified to have resolved the issue, delete any snapshots taken on the VCSA.
