Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
For vSAN clusters that run on vSphere6.7 Update 1 with a  vCenter that cannot connect to the internet (air-gapped) the vSAN health-check service may incorrectly flag your storage controller as not certified with a message similar to the following.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 6.7

Cause

The issue occurs because the local embedded copy of the vSAN HCL database that resides in vCenter contains older hardware certification information that is out of date.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, manually download the HCL database from the VCG website and upload it to the vCenter through the vSphere UI.

For details on how to update the vSAN HCL database manually, see Updating the vSAN HCL database manually.

Note : The issue would primarily be experienced by the customer's who do not have internet access.
