New scheduled task creation of clone VM with weekly schedule failing to create

Issue/Introduction

• Creating a new "Clone to Virtual Machine" scheduled task using the "Weekly" schedule option fails when using vSphere Client on vCenter Server 8.0.
• In the vSphere Client, when creating a new scheduled task to clone virtual machines, when selecting the weekly frequency, an error appears such as 'Operation failed!' and the task scheduling does not complete.
• Same scheduled task creates successfully when "Daily" and Repeat every "7" days is used instead of Weekly.

Resolution

This is a known issue in vCenter Server 8.0 and vCenter Server 8.0 U1.
