vCenter Server partition full due to support bundle

Issue/Introduction

vCenter Server disk partitions on Linux or Windows are at 100% usage (i.e. the / partition)

Environment

VMware vCenter Server

Cause

Old support bundles may not be deleted automatically by the vCenter. The log bundles may be created in one of the following directories:

• vCenter Server Appliance:
  • /storage/log
  • /etc/vmware-vpx/docRoot/diagnostics
  • /etc/vmware-vpx/bundle-stage
    
    
• vCenter on Windows:
  • C:\ProgramData\VMware\vCenterServer\cfg\vmware-vpx\docRoot\diagnostics

Resolution

Manually delete the support bundle(s) in the relevant directory. After deleting the bundle(s), disk usage will be reduced on the related partition.
