Directory sync is running endlessly in vRealize Automation 7.x

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Directory sync is running endlessly for one or more directories.
• Save and sync button is grayed out and you are unable to start a new sync.

Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 7.0.x
VMware vRealize Automation 7.6.x
VMware vRealize Automation 7.x
VMware Identity Manager 2.x

Cause

This issue occurs due to a failure within the identity component preventing the directory sync from failing or completing the request.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware vRealize Automation 7.0.x.

 

Currently, there is no resolution.

To work around this issue:

 

1. Log in to the vRealize Automation appliance(s) as root using SSH.
2. Reset the affected service by running the command:
   
   service horizon-workspace restart
    
3. Re-try the affected sync process to confirm that it is working.
