Troubleshooting (logs, procedures and techniques) Steps and Link to how to collect logs from partner SVM

Collection of EPSec/NetX logs from partner SVM and partner Manager
  • For partner Manager logs – https to the vSOM web console with credentials and collect logs from log menu.
  • For SVM logs – https to the vSCM web console with credentials and collect logs from log menu.
Application of Filter rules (for debugging) – ssh to the vSCM cli console with credentials and collect logs via command show logging debug.

Installation and configuration
  • Import SG6000-CloudHive-NSX-vSOM-2.5.ova image, start instance and configure management address.
  • Visit vSOM management interface via browser first, and then install according to prompts. Finally, start CloudHive.
  • Deploy CloudHive security service for cluster through NSX Manager.
  • Visit CloudHive management interface via browser, and check the status of security service.
  • Configure security groups in the NSX Manager.
  • Configure the distributed firewall policy for security groups in the NSX Manager.
  • Configure the corresponding firewall policies for security groups in the CloudHive Web UI.
  • Configure the redirect policy for security groups in the NSX Manager.
Note: One vSOM only can manage two vSCMs(Primary and Secondary), and vSCMs and vSSMs must be in same subnet.

Uninstallation Process
  • Delete the CloudHive security service deployed in the cluster from NSX Manager.
  • Delete service instance and service definition of CloudHive in NSX Manager.
  • Shutdown CloudHive from the vSOM management CLI.
  • Uninstall CloudHive from the vSOM management CLI.
Upgrade Procedure
  • Upload upgrade package and start upgrade from vSOM Web UI.
  • Click to upgrade the CloudHive security service deployed in the cluster on NSX Manager according to prompts.
  • Complete the whole upgrade process from vSOM Web UI.
  • During the upgrade process, vSSM will be deleted and re-created. The traffic of security groups will not be redirected to security service untill the upgrade finishes.
