Unable to re-create TN on Windows 2019 BMS when ovsim driver can't be cleaned up

Issue/Introduction

​​​​​​Symptoms:

• The re-creation of TN will fail on Windows 2019 BMS in specific scenario.

Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center
VMware NSX-T
VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.x

Cause

• The issue is caused when the user invokes rest api to delete tn with parameter "keep_fabric=true".

DELETE https://<nsx-mgr>/api/v1/transport-nodes/tn uuid?keep_fabric=true

• It has been identified that the issue does not occur when the changes are made on the UA UI.

Resolution

This is known issue affecting VMware NSX. There is currently no resolution

Workaround:
As a workaround the user needs to reboot the Windows host to make sure the ovsim driver is cleaned up.
