Resolution
To install the Smarts NCM Device Server (DS) in a NAT environment, do the following:
- On the Linux system where the DS is going to be installed, open the following file for editing:
open the /etc/hosts
- Add an entry for the NAT IP address and hostname of the DS.
- Verify that the hostname -i command returns the DS NAT IP address as in the output. I
- If it does not, remove or comment other records for the host name in /etc/hosts file, and run the hostname -i command again.
- Proceed with the installation based on the NCM installation guide.
- To schedule the job in the Device Server, replace the ADDR entry in the primary infrastructure database with the NAT IP of the DS.
