Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
When identifying this issue the following will be true:
  • Logging into the vRealize Orchestrator Control Center results in the error: The provided credentials are not valid.
  • You are able to log into the server as root using the same password.
  • Your password for root includes a backslash.


Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 8.x
VMware vRealize Orchestrator 8.x

Cause

There is a known issue where backslash in passwords can cause failure to log into the vRealize Orchestrator Control Center.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, upgrade to vRealize Automation versions 8.5.

To work around this issue, you will need to change your root password to one without a backslash.
