Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Add Host Operation (Workflow) skips NFS configuration for the newly added host to NFS based cluster. It skips the NFS configuration for the newly host if the selected host belongs to the same NFS network pool. The workflow itself gets completed successfully, but the NFS Share is not mounted on the newly added host.

NFS Share is not mounted

After completion of Add Host Operation while checking vCenter it is found that there is no NFS datastore for the newly added host to the NFS based cluster.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 5.0
Vmware Cloud Foundation 4.5.1
Vmware Cloud Foundation 4.5

Cause

If the selected host belongs to the same NFS Network Pool, the Add Host Operation skips the execution of Workflow's action to apply the NFS configuration for the newly added host.

Resolution

The issue has been resolved in VCF 5.0.

Workaround:
To workaround the issue, please follow the below mentioned steps:
  1. Login to vCenter Web Client associated to Workload domain.
  2. Go to datastores and select NFS datastore that is associated to the cluster to which newly added hosts are added.
  3. Select "Mount Datastore to additional hosts" from Actions menu.
  4. Select newly added hosts that belongs to cluster and click on OK.
