Issue/Introduction

• The host power status alarm in vCenter Server fails to trigger even though the host detects power state change.
• Alarm or warning for power can be seen in the Hardware Status tab with web client.

Environment

• VMware vSphere ESXi 6.5
• VMware vCenter Server 6.5.x

Cause

Issue in hostd. vCenter Server fails to receive a power status event from hostd due to this problem.

Resolution

Resolved in ESXi 6.5 U2.

Workaround:
There is no workaround.
