Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

  • Machine provisioning from vRA fails on allocating disk
  • You see an error similar to:
com.vmware.xenon.common.ServiceHost$ServiceNotFoundException: Service not found: http://<IP_Address>:8282/resources/storage-descriptions/<UUID_1>?$expand=documentLinks

Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 8.4.x
VMware vRealize Automation 8.3.x

Cause

This issue can occur if datastore(s) that were associated with an existing storage profile in vRA were removed from vCenter.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in vRealize Automation 8.5.1

Workaround:
To work around this issue if you do not want to upgrade, you must remove the deleted datastore(s) from vRA Storage profile manually.

  1. Navigate to Cloud Assembly > Infrastructure Storage Profiles to identify the affected datastore(s).
  2. Select each Account / region
  3. If the selected Account / region contains a deleted datastore, you will be presented with a warning banner:
Profile <storage profile name> has some missing resources.
  1. Select the affected storage profile and remove the missing datastore or associate it with a different datastore.
