Upgrade pre-check complains on any issues found on hosts that are already skipped for upgrade

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

ESXi upgrade pre-check ends with error message :
"Failed scanning hosts : [<host-fqdns>] for the baseline groups associated with cluster"

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 5.0
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.0.x

Cause

The current skip host property for upgrade, is only valid for upgrade but not for pre-check before upgrade.

Resolution

The issue is fixed in VCF 5.1.

Workaround:

To workaround the issue, please follow the below mentioned steps:

• Upgrade and ignore the precheck errors if it only contains hosts that are already skipped as per the property esx.upgrade.skip.host.ids in /opt/vmware/vcf/lcm/lcm-app/conf/application-prod.properties file.

• Later address the skipped hosts if any.
